Couples & Family Counselling
Relationships can be a meaningful source of connection and support, but they can also become difficult when communication breaks down, conflict becomes repetitive, or life changes place added pressure on a couple or family.
At Mountain Pathways Wellness, our psychologists provide virtual couples and family counselling in a supportive, respectful, and collaborative environment. Counselling can help you better understand relationship patterns, communicate more effectively, work through difficult experiences, and develop healthier ways of relating to one another.
Couples Counselling
Couples counselling can provide space to understand what is happening within your relationship and work together toward meaningful change.
You may consider couples counselling for concerns such as:
- Communication difficulties
- Frequent or unresolved conflict
- Emotional disconnection
- Trust and relationship concerns
- Intimacy and connection
- Major life transitions
- Parenting differences
- Cultural or family-of-origin differences
- Separation or changes within the relationship
- Strengthening an otherwise healthy relationship
The goal is not to determine who is right or wrong. Instead, counselling can help both partners better understand their experiences, needs, communication patterns, and relationship dynamics.
Family Counselling
Families can experience stress for many reasons, including changing roles, communication difficulties, major transitions, cultural differences, grief, or ongoing conflict.
Family counselling provides a structured environment where family members can explore these challenges together.
Our psychologists may support families with:
- Communication difficulties
- Parent and adult-child relationships
- Family conflict
- Changing family roles
- Blended-family concerns
- Immigration and cultural adjustment
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions
- Boundary concerns
- Strengthening family relationships
Virtual Counselling Across Alberta
Couples and family counselling is available virtually, allowing participants to attend from a private and appropriate location without travelling to a clinic.
Virtual sessions can also make scheduling easier when partners or family members have different work, family, or transportation commitments.
